The LA Marathon 2019 is back and right around the corner. Registration is still open for the marathon that will take place on March 24th, 2019. If you are registering for the race, staying in Downtown LA such as the athletics club hotel, you’ll be close to the starting line!
There are plenty of reasons to run the LA marathon. The marathon brings together runners from across the United States including more than 70 countries. The LA marathon course will also take you through scenic neighborhoods and landmarks of the city. You’ll start out in Downtown LA, make your way north through Chinatown, run west through Hollywood, Beverly Hills until the race ends in Santa Monica, one of the most popular beaches in all of Southern California. When you’ve reached the end, enjoy the Finish Festival where you can listen to music, hang out at the Angel City Brewery Beer Garden and more.
To prepare for your marathon, remember to always run in a relaxed pose to keep from straining muscles. If you’ve been training for the marathon, here are some last minute tips in the days leading up to the marathon. Make sure you don’t try anything new. Use only the clothes and food that you’ve successfully used in a long training run. If you listen to music on your run, make sure your phone, watch or other player is fully charged. During the morning of the marathon, make sure you stay hydrated. Start taking a few sips of water every 30 minutes as soon as you’re up and during the race, be sure to take water at every aid station along the course.
